Final Evaluation
Edges was the theme I decided to go with, not for one specific particular reason but many reason the first I though of was because I have already done work and researched an artist who has a theme on edges in the previous unit (unit1). This artist in the previous unit all ready inspired me to do some terrific work; I also took a great interest in his photography work. He is called Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. Not only because I had an interested in a photography artist, I choose edges as my theme. Another reason was because I want to get across my interruption of edges as many people think edges only mean corners, I wanted to show that our world is made up of different edges.
During this unit I have though of many things to do but only followed on the ideas which where possible to do while I was in the premisses of school. Originally wanted to take an image of an edge which people would not class as your typical edge, blow it up on a very large scale. A scale that is the size of a whole wall, put this on a piece of gigantic card and cover a corner with my image, so it was a corner on a corner. By has I did not have the resources neither the weather, I was not able to do this. However I was also able to think of idea that was still as great and still achievable with the resource I had and followed it out. One idea I was able to follow out was creating and defining the edges I took photos of in photoshop, I done this so people could really focus on what my theme was "Edges". As well showing people how much different photoshop can make to a photo.
My second on idea which was also the idea I used to create one of my final pieces, was to take another interesting photo with the DSLR one several edges, uses photoshop once again but this time I am using different tools, I used photoshop enhance the different platforms with different colours to make them look 2-D as well has to show the spacial awareness (how I done this is explained in more detail, on my Unit 2 page underneath my final images). Blow it up on larger scale, to show the size of the image properly Mr.Niclols took a photo comparing it to me. So people could see the actual size. once I had done this and mounted it on the card. I still didn't think the dyes where defined as much as they could have bee so to develop more on to that using a ruler and a sharp knife, I scored the main edges on the building on the photo bending it to create and sckaputure/ illusion of the photo being 3-D.
I have used many resources to expand my knowledge and create my final peices, I looked and read books however it was very hard to find bits about photogprahy to do with edges so that was on of the struggles i had, but searching the net gave me much information about several artis what they done and how they developed there ideas this also gave my inspiration for my own ideas. I have used several type of media techniques to show what I have found out such as doing all my work on a website, uploading videos to explain even more clearly the points I was trying to get across and to show what have learnt. I have also used links to other website just incase views would like I know more about a person or an idea. I have put in slide shows and galleries this is so I can show a series of photo in a neat and tidy manner.
Thought out my work I have rewired and refine to costly make it look better and more professional such as changing the type of font to a more sophisticated one. But not only I have I went through my work and changes things I have got other people to give me feed back on what I could improve as other people may have different views. The main resource I have used would have to be the DSLR because the high-tech picture quality was the best quality could give me the most outstanding photo which was I needed, as I need aper everything in complete focus it could not be blurry as it would courted the hole concept of the photo.
My final outcome could have be bigger and better but that I mean if I had the resources I would have liked do a real life size of my image, for example: printing my image out on big sheet of metal and making a public sculpture one that you can walk in and out of like Richard sera's sculptures. The message I was trying to get across was not all edges are the same there are many different versions and many different things you can do with them. i think my final piece come out very well hoe ver if i have the resource and was able to do what i had originally wanted to do I think that would have made it 100 time better and more original in its self.
I am very happy and glad with the out come of the whole of unit 2, there is always sum bit i would change for example research more in to different artist and develop on there ideas to create my own which i have done already but even more so.
